Good day ladies and gentlemen, this is IRC news and I am Joy Stephen, an authorized Canadian Immigration practitioner bringing out this special edition of Immigration news from CIC press release, . Canada makes it easier for Hong Kongers to stay and work in Canada

Canada continues to stand by Hong Kong residents, and supports their freedom and democracy. Since 2021, Canada has opened its doors to Hong Kongers through dedicated immigration pathways, and continues working to improve these pathways and make it easier for them to remain in Canada long-term.

Minister announced the removal of the education requirement under the Canadian work experience stream (Stream B) of the Hong Kong permanent residence pathways effective August 15, 2023. This means that more Hong Kongers with Canadian work experience will be eligible for permanent residence, as they will no longer be restricted by their education status. It also simplifies the application process, as applicants will no longer be required to submit proof of education.

This amendment complements the recent extension and expansion of open work permits for Hong Kong residents and further assists the transition from temporary to permanent residence for Hong Kong residents.
